thursday morning it's all coming to a close. the chapters that have been written about my life in NP. 3 years have gone by in a flash. thank God for everything, good and bad - one of the more heartbreaking 'streaks' i've had: 3 different girls. 3 different years (academic year that is). 3 heartbreaks. haha. looking back at it now. it's kinda funny in a way. but the worst one hit when it happened in year 1. shank will know what happened. boy was it painful. life goes on. Open House 2006 and VIVA presentation beckons this coming weeks. then comes Prom Night 2006 and hopefully my Melbourne trip for the Australian Floorball Open with najib, mr sani, pierre and whoever else will make up the team that SFA wants us to form and go across. and then. the final milestone of my NP journey: graduation ceremony. enjoy that for a bit and i'm sure the nice little letter with the words "Ministry of Defense; Private and Confidential" on the front will arrive. off with the hair and fats then.
it's been a great ride in NP, especially since the day i joined eGarage. all my best pals are from there. shaun ben shuren shank ivan fengnan wenru and patricia. wonderful friends. wonderful times. all the competitions we've all taken part in. Wireless Java Jam (and the 'scandal' that never was). Imagine Cup. Office Skills Challenge. and now, World Skills Singapore and World Skills (International). it's fair to say that we all achieved nearly to our fullest potentials in year 2 and 3. when we were smart enough to get around the school system of rules and regulations (-sneaky grin-). when we made friends with our lecturers and even got one or two of them to buy us alcohol. haha. going on overseas trips. india being the highlight of my 3 years in NP. how it opened my eyes to the world. of course. there's still 0315. the class that i was assigned to. i'm not really sorry or regretful that i'm not as close to them as i am with the eGarage guys and girls. either way. they're still my friends and i acknowledge the help that they've given me (however slight). ming yao will always be my mentor/gaming partner/counsellor/project mate. perhaps he's the only one i can really relate to in my whole class. sometimes it seems like the rest of them are plain. well. blank. and i hate it. i hate it when people can't be serious. when people blame you for their own inadequacies. maybe that's why i never did get close with my classmates. hah. (food for thought ain't it?)
that aside. i think i've done pretty well academically. GPA of 3+ out of 4. well. above average it may be. but whether or not it's enough to see me through to uni is another question. i definitely do not want to go the overseas route unless absolutely necessary. problem now is for me to decide what is it that i want to do. what is it that gives me that 'kick' in life. sports? teaching? do i want to stay in the IT sector? mass comm maybe? i don't know. i really don't. perhaps that's why NS is a good thing. officership and i'll sign on. no doubts about it.
floorball. hah. funny how i got into the sport in the first place. played ice hockey for about 4 months plus before i stopped because of injury. granted i wasn't really a good hockey player (i could only shoot. not more not less). played floorball in sec 5 during PE (wow. haven't used that term in a while) and got hooked. helped to start up the floorball club in St Gabriel's and that's it. off i went to poly. i knew from then on that i wanted to play floorball. (un)fortunately. i joined as the only one. as in. i didnt join with a group of friends. i was alone. the seniors (jason vasan ryan weiren tim and hongzhen) made life more comfortable for me, taking me under their wings. it was all better when najib and imran came into the picture. people whom i'll forever be greatful for helping kickstart my passion for the game. did i repay them enough? i hope so. scoring the only goal in the 04/05 season for NP. scoring the equalising goals against tazsilian (penalty shootout) and ite, both in the semis. maybe my goal returns isn't enough. but i think i've done more than my fair share of work both for NPFB and FC Squirrels.
how i'm going to miss school. the friends. the ups and downs. the food maybe (hah!). the memories, those that make me smile, those that bring tears to my eyes. i'll never forget them. i'll always cherish them all..
