idiots.
monday night pre-departure briefing on friday was good. went much better than i expected and i'm very thankful for all the volunteers and the committee. more so for sebastian and chel who took over me while i lay in bed for a good one week thanks to tonsillitis and high fever (which destroyed my hopes of starting of the new year good).
went to kl over the weekend to help with the pre-departure in malaysia. the anu administrators, nivi (the international students department representative, a singaporean), tully fletcher (the president of the anu students association) and myself had a ball of a time. the pre-departure in kl was fairly different in that the volunteers and committee members weren't as interactive as those in singapore.
it's all different approaches i guess. what disgusted me most was the fact that some people within the mso committee treated nivi, tully and i with such disrespect that even the school administrators noticed it. it surprises me how some people can want to suck up so much that they forget what they are doing to others.
but what the heck eh? i've got other things to worry about like the upcoming forum. that's one week away and there are a lot of things left to do. some people within the committee (actually it's just one) are acting like a spoilt brat. i hate it when people pay lip service. i hate it more when someone who's not contributing anything positive, writes an email to slam the way things are going and then wants me to write an "emotional plea" to the rest of the committee to get them to work.
sometimes i wonder how do the various agencies and companies choose their scholars. some really give the scholar community a bad name with their incompetence as a leader and as workers. oh well..
