saturday evening wow, it's been a long time. the past semester has been a mix of fortunes but i wouldn't hazard to figure which way it went. things happened and that's that.
exam results were out a couple of weeks a go and i was pleasantly surprised. that still doesn't make up for the fact that my HRM essay was a disaster. i don't agree to being penalized 5 marks for a punctuation error in my references. i did better than expected for corporate strategy and did as well as i'd hope for indonesian. it all balances itself out i guess..
5 day 4 night snowboarding trip was good. drove a minibus for quite a bit but it was all great fun. the only downside was that the heavy winds kept blowing the snow down such that when we were at the top, there was very little snow and a lot of ice. but it was good all the same.
short trip to newcastle was great. i must say though, it is one place that's quieter than canberra and almost nothing to do. case in point: on the first night, we ended up watching toy story 3 and then heading back to the hotel to watch tv and sleep. the drive back to canberra was a tiring one. 2 hours to sydney, lunch and then a 3.5 hour drive back. i was dead tired by the time i hit my bed.
all that before i headed up to meet my parents, sister and her boyfriend in sydney. we covered sydney, gold coast and brisbane before the folks came back to canberra with me. and oh, then there's my sister being proposed to in front of the sydney opera house. ha!
that's that. 2 months in a couple of paragraphs. school's started somewhat and my course advisor has just screwed me over. apparently he's calculated my modules wrongly and insists that i do a computing course to make up the last elective if not i can't graduate. my opinion? don't be a course advisor if you're going to screw people over like this, especially if international students pay ridiculous amounts of money.
