winter break.
monday morning right. it's been a month since i last wrote. the holidays were pretty short considering that i ended on the 2nd last day of the examinations period. in some ways it was a wasted trip but i'd rather think of it as one that was worth the pain (literally) and money spent.
reached singapore on friday night and spent it at home before hanging out with my parents on saturday and sunday. met up with the egarage people on monday to watch transformers where a lengendary joke was born (shut up your face) thanks to a group of indian kids who were trying to act old and be cool.
then! tuesday came along as did a fever, peaking at 39.8. went to see a doctor and we decided that i should go to CDC to get tested for h1n1 just in case. i wasted and suffered for a good 4 hours before a doctor saw me and flatly said "i think you're a fit healty young man, so you just go home and rest". wow.. okay. i found out the next day that they had me registerred as an NSMan doing my in-camp despite me writing on all the forms that i was studying overseas. so much for accurate information.
thus started the one week home quarantine where i literally almost went insane because of boredom. with that done, the first day of freedom i had again was the same day my results came out. it was plain frustration and disappointment with one particular module. it was absurd the more i thought about it and exchanged emails with my lecturer. but that's that. the fact remains that there is nothing i can do about it and i should just look to the future.
it was a mad rush to "make up for lost time" and so, i was pretty much out most of the time. my flight was brought forward from sunday night to thursday night and so i was back in canberra by friday afternoon. the not-too-bitter cold was a welcome change over the humidity of singapore.
the time back so far has been all about readjusting to the timing, the weather and the food. did a bit of jogging, tennis and poker (yeah, i finally learnt how to play it) the past two days with some friends.
this semester looks set to be the toughest yet. timetable looks shit and even though i only have two modules with exams to sit for, they are enough to kill me so, i guess we'll see what happens.
it's back to the shithole (hah) and the start of my final year of studies begins.
