let it rip.
tuesday if only it were as simple as firing a rifle on full auto. to let go of all the emotions building up. the anger, frustrations, disappointments and other feelings that culminate in me being totally out of sync with what's been going on in the office and basically everything else. i'm pretty sure i know why i feel the way i do with regards to certain things but like i said, if only it were as simple as firing a rifle.
anyhows. got a new hobby. an expensive one too. bought a remote controlled helicopter. so that's one more thing off my list of wants. costs about S$140 but i decided to get spare parts and an extra battery just in case. wasn't surprised when i eventually had to replace all four rotors - two totally broke off when i flew the helicopter into the wall by accident. anyway, i didn't buy the traditional helicopter design (ie. main rotors and a tail rotor) - bought one that has no tail rotor.
so here, a basic background of helicopter aeronautics. because the main rotors produce a lot of thrust, it actually spins the whole helicopter around with it (if the rotors spin clockwise, the body will spin counter-clockwise) hence the need for a tail rotor to counter this spin.
the thing is, if you have two sets of main rotors, each spinning in the opposite direction, it eliminates the need for the tail rotor. the end result is a much more stable and slightly more powerful motor. thus my decision.
in any case, it's been a painful two days. it's crashed into walls, hit the ceiling and even smashed into a set of dumb-bells. but i'm getting a hang of it so it's all good. just need to go someplace with lots of open space to mess around a bit more. but since the weather has been so uncooperative, i'm limited to the confines of the living room and the 6th floor balcony.
well. nothing much else happening in this boring place. i must say though, i'm inching towards being "cheena-fied". i've almost forgotten how to think in english and that scares me. the scariest part though, is me being able to read and write traditional chinese (albeit a small bit but given my grasp of simplified chinese..it's an achievement all by itself). let's not even begin about the chinese songs. it's a nightmare.
